VISHNU GARLA, M.D. (PGY3 & Chief Resident)

Vishnu was born and raised in Visakhapatnam, India. He completed his medical education in JJM Medical College at Davangere ,India. After spending some time in Tennessee, where he pursued his Masters in Public Health, Vishnu moved to Huntington to begin his residency training in Medicine-Pediatrics. Outside of medicine he is interested in wildlife, reading biographies and playing tennis.

Marion Huff, M.D. (PGY2)

Mari grew up in Huntington, WV and attended Carson-Newman College.  She received degrees in Biology and chemistry.  She received her medical degree at Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine and continued at JCESOM for residency training in Medicine-Pediatrics.  She enjoys soccer, pottery and cooking in her free time.

Andrea lauffer, M.D. (PGY2)

Andrea grew up in Hurricane, WV and attended Marshall University where she received a B.S. in biology with a minor in chemistry as well as a medical degree. Outside of work, she is involved with her church youth group, and enjoys spending time with family and friends, health/fitness activities, the culinary arts, music, and theater.

Ashley Jessie M.D. (PGY1)

Ashley grew up in Edmonton, Kentucky.  She received her BS in Biology with an emphasis in Microbial, Cellular and Molecular Biology from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond.  She moved from there to Louisville, Kentucky to pursue undergraduate medical training at the University Louisville School of Medicine.  In her spare time, she loves the outdoors and frequently goes fishing and camping with friends and family.  When she is stuck indoors, she loves playing with her two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and crocheting.  During high school and college, she was active in community theater and still enjoys theater though she's no longer an active participant.

Ashley looks forward to working with the Cabell Huntington Hospital NICU to research more about neotatal abstinence scoring systems and NAS treatment while she is here at Marshall, as well as utility of serial cranial unltrasounds in the treatment of premature infants.

Lisa delluomo, D.o. (PGY1)

Lisa grew up in Baltimore, Maryland before heading off to college at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA where she obtained her B.S. in Biology. She spent 1 year in between college and medical school working at an HIV laboratory in Maryland. She obtained her D.O. degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in PA and moved to Huntington to begin her med/peds residency! Outside of work she enjoys watching movies, traveling to new places, piano, her dog, and cheering on the Ravens.

Medicine-Pediatrics Alumni

 

Ed Moran, M.D.
Alumni: 2004-2008

Ed is a West Virginia native, attended South Charleston High School and graduated from Marshall University with degree in Education in Math and Physics. He then went to Lehigh University and graduated with a Master's in Mathematics. He then taught high school math and physics in Boone County, WV, then 2 years of teaching at WV State College. He then attended Marshall University School of Medicine where he received his degree in medicine. Ed is married with three children.

Ed now practices with Valley Health Systems' Fort Gay, WV office, serving both adults and children in their outpatient setting.

Autumn Whitlock-Morales, M.D.
Alumni: 2002-2006

Autumn grew up in Nicholas County, West Virginia. She is a graduate of Marshall University School of Medicine and completed a Medicine-Pediatrics residency program, also at Marshall. She now practices with Richwood Area Community Hospital serving both adults and children in an inpatient and outpatient setting.

 

Ryan Cicenas, M.D.
Alumni: 2000-2004

Ryan was born in Gary, Indiana but went to high school in Huntington, WV. He did his undergraduate work in mathematics at Marshall University (where he also played football for the Thundering Herd - and was part of the 1992 National Championship Team). He completed medical school and residency training in Medicine-Pediatrics at Marshall University. Interestingly, he graduated high school with Aaron McGuffin and went to college with Chad Smith (who also was his Alpha Tau Omega little brother). Special interests include football (of any sort, though especially Notre Dame and Marshall) and music. Ryan also participates in a pediatric outreach program at a rural high/middle school once per month. Ryan is board certified in both Pediatrics & Internal Medicine.

 

Chad Smith, M.D.
Alumni: 2000-2004

Chad is a West Virginia native whose interests include research on Streptococcal pneumoniae resistance. He works closely with Internal Medicine Chairman Emeritus, Dr. Maurice Mufson and has won several research awards for his research endeavors. Chad is married and has two young children. Chad was the Chief Resident for the Department of Medicine. He is now board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
