William Nitardy, MD

William "Skip" Nitardy was born in West Virginia, but spent most of his childhood outside of the state. He returned to Marshall for his undergraduate training then spent six years in business before going to medical school.
Dr. Nitardy is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
His clinical responsibilities include both internal medicine and
pediatrics hospital services and outpatient acute care. His research interests include
teaching in a hospital setting and advanced directives. He
completed medical school and residency at Marshall University. He is married and has two children.
Outside of medicine, Skip enjoys golf, soccer and Marshall athletic events.
Aaron McGuffin, MD

Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education
Dr. Aaron McGuffin was born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia, and completed much of his undergraduate work at Eastern Kentucky University where he also played college tennis. He completed his medical school at Marshall University School of Medicine in 1999 and the Medicine-Pediatric residency program here in 2003. Board certified in both, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Dr. McGuffin continues to maintain clinical responsibilities in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. McGuffin teaches in all four years of the medical school curriculum including serving as Course Director for the Year 2 Approach to Patient Care course. He has served in the position of Senior Associate Dean for Medical Student Education since July 2005 where he oversees the medical school curriculum and assists in LCME accreditation for the school. He is actively involved in curriculum development and USMLE board preparation for the medical students. Research interests include curriculum design, development and outcomes.
Shannon Browning, MD

Shannon is a Huntington native that went to the University of Kentucky and graduated form their pharmacy school in 1995. She then went back to medical school and graduated from Marshall University Joan C Edwards School of Medicine in 2004. She graduated from the Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program at Marshall in August 2008 and has since join the Departments of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics as an Assistant Professor. She was also named the Assistant Program Director of the Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program.
She is married with a son and enjoys many of the activities that Huntington has to offer including the YMCA, Ritter Park and the local shops. She is excited to begin her medical career at Marshall University and hopes to be a part of the community for many years to come.
Eva Patton-Tackett, MD

Eva Patton Tackett, MD is an assistant professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Her undergraduate degree was attained from Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine where she graduated with honors. She completed her Internal Medicine/Pediatric residency at the Marshall University Joan C Edwards School of Medicine. She was chief resident for Internal Medicine during that time. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She has recently been named the Associate Program director for Internal Medicine. Her practice varies a great deal. She has private clinic in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She devotes 12-20 hours per week teaching both residents and students. She also attends on the inpatient service for both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine, American Academy of Pediatrics, and was recently inducted into AOA. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, Tabor. She currently resides in Olive Hill, KY close to her extended family.
Bob Miller, MD

Dr. Bob Miller is a native of Ashland, Kentucky. A graduate of Marshall University School of Medicine, he stayed in Huntington to complete the Medicine-Pediatrics Residency program. After serving as a faculty member in the department for a year, Dr. Miller moved to Houston, Texas to complete a neonatology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Miller returned July 1, 2005 as is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics. He is also board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics as well as Neonatology. Dr. Miller was appointed as the Residency Training Director for the Department of Pediatrics Residency Program July 1, 2006. His special interest is medical bioethics.
