Dr. Edwards is an obstetrician-gynecologist and a native of the Kanawha Valley of West Virginia. He sees obstetric and gynecologic patients at the Marshall University Medical Center. Due to his  special interests in osteoporosis, he interprets the ultrasound scans of the Achilles + bone ultrasonometer, which is used to measure bone density. The measurements are used to  assist in the diagnosis of osteoporosis and to monitor response to therapy.  His specialized surgical interests are in endometrial ablation and minimally invasive surgery for stress urinary in continence. He has hospital privileges at Cabell-Huntington Hospital and St. Mary's Medical Center, in Huntington, West Virginia.

    Ben Edwards, MD  

After completing an undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, Dr. Edwards taught in secondary schools in West Virginia. He completed medical school at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown,  WV, and he finished a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston,  West Virginia.

Dr. Edwards was in a private obstetric-gynecology practice in Huntington, West Virginia for twelve years before joining the faculty of the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in 1991. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
