According to David N. Bailey, MBA,
Assistant Dean for CME and Director of the Teleconference Center, the
Harless Auditorium & Teleconference Center with its wide screen,
210-person seating capacity, varied AV support systems and powerful
LCD projection unit provides a “lights up” classroom atmosphere to
support the medical education meetings for the School of Medicine and
the Cabell Huntington Hospital campus. The auditorium also has
built in connections for laptop use at the seat and podium for
internet and intranet access. The larger ongoing events and
annual conferences as Research Day and Alumni Weekend have relocated
to the Medical Center to utilize the auditorium and conference rooms.
The future plans for the Auditorium and Teleconference Center is to
provide wireless access for computer use and to provide simultaneous
presentations via a telenetwork. Through utilization of touch
screen control systems the presenters have control of all AV support
systems during their lectures, allowing for a seamless flow between
powerpoint, 2x2 slides and video. To schedule use of these
facilities please call 304 691-1770 or email baileyd@marshall.edu.
